Since its beginnings in May 2015, the late Vimmi Yasmin Razak’s beloved NGO Rumah Kita Transit Home continues to provide abandoned single pregnant mothers with basic housing, maternity and baby care. Her aim is to bring down cases of baby dumping in Malaysia. The home is able to house up to 20 mothers, providing that they either have the approval of their Guardians or if they are referred to us by Social Services). Girls are accepted from their second trimester onwards. They will continue to reside at the home until they have completed their 100 days confinement period. Rumah Kita is currently managed by Vimmi’s younger sister Suraya Razak, together with a small group of part-time volunteers managing operations, finance, fundraising and social media.
